Kittur is a fort located in the Karnataka state of India, it is the former capital of a minor principality as well as a major archaeological site. The fort was built by Allappa Gowda Sardesai, the ruler of the Desai dynasty between 1650 and 1681.[2] It was held by Rani Chennamma, a woman warrior of Karnataka who revolted against the British in 1824. Kittur reached its zenith during the Mallasarja Desai. The place has a Nathapanthi matha in police line area, and temples of Maruti in fort, Kalmeshwara, Dyamavva and Basavanna, the last named a later Chalukyan monument now completely renovated. Konda Reddy Fort, also known as Kondareddy Buruju is a fort situated in the city of Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh, India. At a distance of 2 km from Kurnool Railway Station, 2.9 km from Kurnool New Bus Stand and 24 km from Alampur, Konda Reddy fort is an imposing structure situated in the heart of Kurnool City. The monument, a semi-circular bastion crowned with a tower, is the only extant remains of an old fortification around the city. The construction of the fort dates back to the 12th century when the city of Kurnool was used as a base on Tungabhadra river crossing. Kurnool was reigned by Vijayanagara Emperors Devaraya II and Achyutaraya who succeeded Krishnadevaraya built the initial fort between 1530 and 1542. The Gooty Fort, also known as Ravadurg and Gutti Kota, is a ruined fort located on a hill in the Gooty town of Andhra Pradesh, India. The town of Gooty (originally, "Gutti") is located in the Ananthapur district of Andhra Pradesh. It is one of the centrally protected monuments of national importance. The fort is located on a group of hills that rise up to 680 m above the sea level. The hills are connected by lower spurs. The citadel of the fort is located on the westernmost hill. It has only one entrance known as "Mar Gooty. The summit of the citadel has two buildings, apparently a granary and a gunpowder magazine. The ruined Narasimha temple is located near the summit. On a 300 m high cliff, there is a small pavilion called "Murari Rao's seat", which provides a panoramic view of the town below. It is said that the Maratha general Murarirao Ghorpade used to play chess and swing here. In 610-611 AD, Redi was an important trading port under the Chalukya ruler Swamiraja. Redi Fort was built before the rise of the Marathas, with construction starting around 600 AD. Each successive ruler expanded the boundaries of the fort. The current fort walls extend to nearly a 1 km radius, but the original fort stretched from the north, where the Ganesh idol was discovered, to Kanlya Lake, and included Durgusa Island in the Arabian Sea. Wagangera fort is situated on Shorapur hill range. In fact Wagangera was a power center in the pre-Nizam times. During Nizam rule, administration was shifted to Surpur. Present day Wagangera village is nestled between a large hill and a hillock. The main fort is on the large hill and the hillock also has fortifications which would have little more than a watch tower. Now I’m on the larger hill, looking towards the mantapa in front of the main fort’s gateway. That mantapa might have been the place where the king would sit and watch over the lake below. Is located 24 km south west of shahapur. The fort is from the period of Surapur Nayakas A.D 1806. It got its name Vandurga owing to it being surrounded by forest. The large gateways of the fort have high semi-circular Vanadurga originally the name tells us Vana + durga = Forest + Fort fort its was said that the fort was lying in between the thick forest. As now there is no forest but only a heap of agricultural fields, lies in the vanadurga village in Shahpur taluk of Yadgiri district. The fort was built by shorapur dynasty the village lies in west to shahapur and north shorapur

Mudgal's existence dates back to Neolithic era. Rishi Mudgal is also known as Lord Ganesha's teacher. Mudgal is one of the most important places of historical interest. Mudgal or Mudugal has a history dating back to the Seuna Yadavas of Devagiri, several inscriptions of which have been discovered in and around the town. In 11th century Mudgal was an educational centre for the students of various parts of the country. In the beginning of the 14th century, it was an important outpost of the Kakatiya kingdom. Ala-ud-din Bahman Shah, after seizing Devagiri, captured Mudgal along with Raichur. Some recent controversy regarding the original name of Mudgal had arisen by many Historians claiming that it was actually called "Al-Madaggal" during the Bahmani Sultanate era meaning "Place which has been agriculturally cultivated" in Arabic since the Bahmani Turks were predominantly Turko-Arab. After the establishment of the Bahmani Dynasty, the Bijapur kings took possession of the western and southern parts of the territory of the Bahmani kingdom including the forts of Raichur and Mudgal. During 16th century Mudgal was ruled by Vijayanagar Empire. Many battles were fought between Vijayanagar suratrana and Bahmani sultans.
